About the Pastor

 

Pastor Robert L. Altman grew up in Longbranch, SC. He was saved at Longbranch Baptist Church at the age of 12 and later baptized at Victory Baptist Church in North Augusta, SC. Pastor Altman was called to preach at the age of 18 and attended Victory Bible College in North Augusta where he graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Pastoral Theology. He has worked in many areas of the ministry including Youth Ministry, Jail Ministry, Missions, and Pastoring. He and his wife Tara along with a handful of others helped found Bethany Baptist Church in 2008 with a vision to see Barnwell County reached for the cause of Christ. They have a passion for people, whether saved or lost, lonely or loved, broken or whole and desire to see a multitude won to Christ and given a hope not of this world.
